Bowling For Soup - Drunk Enough To Dance
A suggestion from the 8ballradio.com chatterbox, Drunk
Enough to Dance is a fun ass disc. No one is going to
call Drunk Enough to Dance one of the greatest discs
ever but the killer hooks are strong enough to have you
singing them all damn day. They are a less obnoxious/more
talented Blink-182.
Standout tracks include "She's Got a Boyfriend
Now," "Emily," & "Life After Lisa."

David Gray A New Day at Midnight
The follow up to 1999's White Ladder, Gray is
back and a lot looser than in its chart topping predecessor.
Losing some of the more digital moments was a good move
for Gray in my opinion.
Standout tracks include "The Other Side,"
"Last Boat to America," & "December." |

Flickerstick Causing a Catastophe Live
So what do you do after an infamous run on a VH1 Reality
series about bands trying to get signed? Well you get signed,
release your major label debut, tour for two years straight,
lose your record deal then release a live CD. Well that's
what Flickerstick has done in the last two years and boy has
it helped. The band sounds killer on new songs "Telling
All the World" & "Belive" as well as the
superb cover of Mazzy Starr's "Fade into You." The
real highpoint though is the opening and closing of the disc
with "Direct Line to the Telepathic" and its reprise.
A great way to put a cap on this superb live disc. |

India Arie Voyage to India
Following all her Grammy nominations for 2001's
Acoustic Soul, Arie definitely is striking while
the iron is hot. She must have learned a thing or two from
Lauren Hill on what not to do career wise. Where Hill has
run from the spotlight, Arie just moves closer and closer
to it, especially with Voyage to India. With her
improving songwriting and amazing voice, Arie shines on
her sophomore effort.
Standout tracks include "Good Man," "Complicated
Man," & "Talk to Her." |

Starsailor Love Is Here
Another trend that you might pick up on in this here
list. Another god damn British band. Rolling Stone calls Starsailor
the "UK equivalent of the Goo Goo Dolls." Whether
that is fair or not is yet to be scene since the Goos needed
more than a decade to craft their melodramatic rock into what
it is today. Starsailor is a young band that you can tell
is still finding their way as songwriters since some of the
lyrics are a tad silly. Easily the best song on the disc is
"Good Souls," a song that I still find myself singing
along with and seeking out on the radio dial. |

Jurassic 5 Power in Numbers
The follow up to 2000's Quality Control does
nothing but further establish this six member group. From
the call to action "Freedom," to "A Day at
the Races," with Big Daddy Kane, Jurassic 5 has grown
up a lot in the past two years. With a darker but more mature
disc, J5 is not afraid to shy away from issues. I can't say
it any better than they do on "If You Only Knew":
"What we do is try to give you what you ain't used to."

Sammy Hagar Not 4 Sale
With what some are calling his best effort since 1991's
For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, while in Van Halen,
the Red Rocker returns with Not 4 Sale. With rumors
swirling on a reconciliation with the brothers Van Halen,
Hagar's voice still has not lost a beat. Highlights include
"Stand Up," "Hallelujah," "Halfway
to Memphis," & "Things've Changed," Hagar's
biggest hit since leaving the once mighty Van Halen. Is there
anything better than sitting back with a Waborita, a big fatty,
and some Red Rocker? I don't think so. |

Tribe of Judah Exit Elvis
Along with Jurassic 5, one of the few discs that
make you sit back and not just listen to what is being sung,
but actually think about it as well. Tribe of Judah is the
brainchild of Gary Cherone and his new creative output since
leaving Van Halen. Cherone sticks to his roots with a guitar
driven CD but also mixes in some electronic elements to
keep his sound fresh and relevant.
Standout tracks include "Ambiguous Headdress,"
"Thanks for Nothing," "Suspension of Disbelief,"
& the epic rock opera-esque, "Exit Elvis."

Ok Go Ok Go
Smart, Fun, Catchy; all describe Ok Go's debut CD.
OK Go pretty much ends the myth that fun rock music has
to be dumb. Think David Lee Roth before the peroxide destroyed
what little mind he had.
Standout tracks include "Get Over It," "You're
So Damn Hot," & "There's a Fire."

Our Lady Peace Gravity
Everyone has heard "Superman's Dead."
I have no doubt about it but did anyone realize how good
of a band Our Lady Peace is? I never did until I saw them
in concert and realized how many songs I knew and enjoyed.
Gravity is no different and in fact better. With big guitar
sound, Our Lady Peace can definitely help bring rock all
the way back to the head of music.
Standout tracks include "Innocent," "Do
You Like It," "A Story About a Girl," &
"Somewhere Out There." |

David Bowie Heathen
Nothing has changed. Everything has changed. With
these telling first track lyrics of Heathen, Bowie launches
what is his most promising work since his 1993 critically
acclaimed (and commercially-snubbed-in-the-U.S.) album "Black
Tie White Noise." Ladies and Gents get excited. Bowie
has stopped tinkering around for a change and decided to
pseudo-satisfy our collective craving for "Sound and
Vision IV." Bowie has done what he does best: rip off
other people's sound and make it better and fresh and distinctly
David Bowie - or at least, the latest reincarnation of David
Bowie at the time. Except this time, he ripped off himself.
Standout tracks include "Slow Burn" and "Gemini
Spacecraft." |

Audioslave Audioslave
What do you get when you put the voice & lyrics
of Soundgarden with the music of Rage Against The Machine?
Apparently exactly what you would expect if you mixed the
two. The super group Audioslave, comprised of said parts,
breaks no new ground but it is not a bad thing. Cornell
still has the best voice in rock music and the former Rage
members' skills are in the forefront with guitarist Tom
Morello showing he may be the best guitarist in rock music.
Standout tracks are "Shadow Of The Sun," "The
Last Remaining Light," & "Cochise."
