Jack Johnson Brushfire Fairytales
So what happens when you take a guy who makes surf movies
and surfs for a living and give him a guitar and let him
do his thing? You get Jack Johnson's Brushfire Fairytales.
The music world, well in Philly anyway, first found out
about Jack via Philly's own G Love & The Special Sauce's
1999 release Philadelphonic. Well this year everyone
else finally caught up to Philly and let Jack Johnson into
their lives.
With his acoustic guitar and some killer songs, Jack helped
make this the year of the singer songwriter. Johnson's laid
back lyrics and approach make this album what it is, one
of the best discs to hit it big this year and one of our
favorites. There are so many highpoints that it is almost
impossible to say that there is a bad song on the disc.
If we have to pick, standout tracks are "Sexy Plexi,"
"Flake," "Bubble Toes," "The News,"
"Mudfootball", hell you get the point!
